Walnut lines can be long, flowing and graceful or incredibly twisty, jagged and complex.

As with other extremely dense hard woods, cracks, knots an burl are not uncommon.

Colors range from soft yellow-orange to midnight black, chocolates and dark purples.

For design purposes, Walnut makes a great contrast to lighter woods and is commonly found in all types of furniture, mill work, flooring and cabinetry.

This is my personal favorite wood to paint and my skill and understanding of Walnut technique has grown substantially in recent years.

I’m excited to get to share this wonderful finish with you in my courses.
