Macassar Ebony is truly among the most thrilling of the tropical hardwoods, in my opinion.

Characterized by bold, black grain lines overlying a foundation of oranges and reds.

But often including lacy grain, complex figure, intricate burl and small knots.

I’ve used it for years to accent projects with framing and inlay.

Another wood grain that’s fairly easy and forgiving to paint and always rewarding.
