Cherry faux painted woodgrain is characterized by rich red tones, subtle under grain, and gracefully arching heart grain.

Pillow and other attractive figure as well as tight burl are common.

Found in all types of wood working including small, close focus work like boxes and other decorator and personal accessories

Also popular in cabinetry, flooring and doors for its sustainable availability and pricing.

I love cherry faux painted woodgrain for its relatively easy to apply, forgiving techniques and wide range of colors.

It can be painted in very light, subtle tones or using deeper reds and dark features.

The technique I teach to create Cherry is unique and can be used to create several other woods with similar grain features.
